Leadership at Sutton Real Estate Company

John M. Frantz, Jr., CCIM, Chairman of the Board

John currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Sutton Real Estate Company. He is a 1961 graduate of Harvard College with an A. B. Degree in English. Since 1973, he has been associated with Sutton. He became President of Sutton in 1980 and Chairman in 1999. John is a licensed real estate broker in New York State. He has received the designation of CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) offered by the Commercial Investment Real Estate institute of the National Association of Realtors. Before joining Sutton, he was Vice President of the Metropolitan Development Association of Syracuse and Onondaga County, in which capacity he served also as General Manager of the Central New York Office of the New York State Urban Development Corporation and Executive Director of the University Hill Corporation.

Louis G. Fournier, III, CPM, President

Louis currently serves as President of Sutton Real Estate Company. He is a 1983 graduate of the State University of New York, Oswego where he received a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He has been associated with Sutton since 1983 and has been an Officer and Director for the company since 1997. Louis is a Certified Property Manager (CPM) with experience in property management, leasing, property restoration, financing, and brokerage. He specializes in startup and turn around projects, working extensively with developers, financial institutions and investors throughout Upstate New York.

In addition, Louis is a certified Receiver, Property Manager, and Real Estate Salesperson in New York State. He has been involved in over 100 receiverships ranging from the management of real estate during the foreclosure process to disposing of property at the direction of the Court.

Louis is currently a board member of Syracuse 20/20, The Bentham Foundation and the Eldercare Foundation. He has also previously served as a board member for the Metropolitan Development Association the Hope for the Bereaved; Treasurer of the Western New York chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) and is a member of the Downtown Residential Development Committee.

Linda A. Charles, TaCCs, Vice President

Linda currently serves as a Vice President of Sutton Real Estate Company and is the principal member of Sutton responsible for supervising both market rate and tax credit properties within the portfolio. She coordinates the management, marketing, and accounting functions for residential properties that Sutton manages. She is a 1987 graduate of the State University of New York, Oswego where she received a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.

Linda has been associated with Sutton since 1993 and is currently responsible for the oversight of approximately 2,000 apartments. She is a Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) and is certified in Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) compliance. She is currently a Certified Property Manager (CPM) candidate with the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM). Prior to her appointment as Vice President, Linda served as Sutton's Director of Residential Properties.

Joseph J. Lewis, SIOR, Vice President

Joe currently serves as a Vice President of Sutton Real Estate Company. A member of the 1980 graduating class at King's College, he has been associated with Sutton for over 26 years.

During his tenure at Sutton, Joe's relevant commercial real estate experience includes; negotiating commercial property acquisition for redevelopments, commercial property designation on the national register of historic places, private placement of historic rehabilitation tax credits, commercial mortgage underwriting, managing historic renovated multifamily projects thru the construction, leasing ramp-up period to stabilized occupancy.

Joe is a licensed Real Estate Broker in New York State, member of the National Association of Realtors, New York State Association of Realtors, the Building and Owners Managers Association of Central New York, and a member of the Society of Office and Industrial Realtors (SIOR).

Barton K. Feinberg, Director of Brokerage

Bart currently serves as the Director of Brokerage Services and as a senior associate broker for Sutton Real Estate Company in Syracuse, New York. He graduated from Ithaca College. He specializes in property development, public/government projects, adaptive redevelopment projects and economic incentives, including tax credits.

Prior to his career in real estate, Bart served as the Director of Economic Development for the City of Syracuse. There he collaborated with local and state economic development agencies, as well as both private and public entities to attract and support existing and new businesses.

Bart has a wealth of experience consulting internationally. Some of his projects include his work on sustainability and organizational development for UNDP/GEF Dynamic Famer-Biodiversity Institute in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. He has also consulted on several USAID projects regarding the assessment and design of management systems for Egyptian partner institutions and private sector companies in Cairo, Egypt.

As a founding board member, and former Executive Director of the Food Bank of Central New York, Bart increased the Food Bank budget from $185,000 to $2.7 million annually while establishing it as a "Model Food Bank" and a leader in the anti-hunger movement. He believes strongly in service to his community. He continues to serve by volunteering in several organizations in the Central New York area.
